JOE TALAMO, BICKERSONS, Winner: “I don’t know if they’re going to ship her out, but where ever they go, let me know. She really impressed me today. This was my first time on her. For a race like that they really weren’t going all that fast, but they pressured her all the way. Around the turn she was just taking deep breaths and I knew they’d have to run to catch her. I had a lot of horse and at the top of the stretch she just kicked instantly.
KELLY BREEN, BICKERSONS, Winner: “We had a tentative plane to go back to our farm in Kentucky on Tuesday, but we might have to put that on hold. She ran a great race. Maybe it was the difference in tracks — there was a closing track at Santa Anita and a little bit more of a speed bias track here. Joe (Talamo) seemed to really love her. I had no excuse why she ran so bad in the Breeders’ Cup, I wish I did. We had talked in the past about putting blinkers on her, but after today there’s no reason to make any changes.”
NOTES: The win was the fourth on the program for jockey Joe Talamo . . . Owners George and Lori Hall reside in Rumson, N.J.
