JOEL ROSARIO, U R ALL THAT I AM, Winner: “All I wanted to do was keep her as far away from the loose horse as I could. At about the 5/16 I could see that horse was drifting out a bit, so I made my move inside her. I knew I had a lot of horse so I thought I could wait a little longer just to be safe.”
DAN WARD (Assistant trainer to Jerry Hollendorfer): “The thing about a loose horse in a race is that you never know what they’re going to do. It actually put some pressure on the frontrunners today, which is okay. She really ran a good race at 6 1-2 furlongs on the turf at Santa Anita. We’re thinking of stretching her out on turf and maybe run her next in the mile Cal bred race, the ($60,000-added ) Fran’s Valentine (on May 23). We have a lot of options with her.”
NOTE: The win in the B. Thoughtful was the second in four years for Hollendorfer and his third overall. He also scored with Somethinaboutlaura in 2007 and Fleet Lady in 1998….This was the first time the race had been run at 7 ½ furlongs…The B. Thoughtful had been seven furlongs since 1998 and the inaugural was run at 6 ½ furlongs….
