A.C. AVILA, FANTASY FREE, Winner: “It’s been a great year. I used to have a 6-8 horse stable and now it’s up to 22. They were asking me about (Rush With) Thunder before the race, but I was telling everyone that the other horse is cheap, but he’s at the top of his game. From December to now he’s gained something like 60 pounds. I told Omar (Berrio) that I thought he was going to beat `Thunder today, but he didn’t think so. I told the owners of Rush With Thunder that if you want to go, let’s go, but Fantasy Free’s going to beat you.”

NOTES: The win was the second in six starts for Fantasy Free since he was claimed by Avila for owner Roddy Valente for $25,000 last Dec. 12 at Hollywood Park…Liberian Freighter, the defending champion in the Tiznow and the 2-1 favorite, faded to sixth after being part of the pace….Runner-up Bestdressed finished third in last year’s Tiznow.
