INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 2, 2011)—One of the two winning tickets in Saturday’s Pick 6 at Hollywood Park was purchased on track for $48.

The perfect tickets were worth $207,087 apiece. An additional $625,871 was wagered Saturday in pursuit of a Friday night carryover of $79,818.

The $48 ticket singled Courageous Cat, the winner of the $300,000 Shoemaker Mile as the even-money favorite, and Smiling Tiger, who led throughout to easily capture the $250,000 Triple Bend Handicap as the 17-10 second choice.

In three other races, the ticket used two horses and three in the fifth race, which was the first leg of the Pick 6. The trio in the fifth included 19-1 winner Don Elias M. and two other longshots – Peacock Alliance and Johnnie Gold.

Additionally, the ticket had 32-1 first time starter Memphis in the seventh along with Goodbye Charlie, the remaining part of an entry. Goodbye Charlie was scratched at the gate, however, meaning the ticket substituted 5-2 favorite Madeoftherightstuf, who was beaten by a head by Memphis.
