BRICE BLANC, ALL STAR HEART, Winner: “She’s just a nice horse. She just likes to win. The race worked out perfectly for me. Everybody went wide and I just dropped in and saved some ground in a beautiful position. She got a little bit keen going to the backside and after that she came back to me beautifully. I just waited and everything kind of opened up. She’s always had that nice turn of foot. (McAnally) has done an amazing job with her and I’m just glad to be part of it.”
VICTOR ESPINOZA, STAR BILLING, Eighth: “She bobbled a little on the first turn and she was a little uncomfortable from that point. On the backside she tried to grab the bridle just a little, but not much. At the three-eighths, I emptied out and I just didn’t have enough horse to keep going with her. We’ll see what happens next time.”
RON MCANALLY, ALL STAR HEART, Winner: “What a nice filly. You can always tell when she’s coming around. She starts to dapple out and act nasty. You walk in the stall to give her a carrot and after she gets the carrot she’ll rear and kick. She’s been away because she had a little splint. A splint is one of the (lesser) injuries they can have. Once in while they get a little calcium deposit in there and you have to let it set. It just took time.”
