VICTOR ESPINOZA, SWISS WILD CAT, Winner: “It was getting a little bit tight down there but it opened up a little more the last sixteenth and there was plenty of room to get through. Everyting worked out perfect. I didn’t think she would have a problem going two turns. It’s funny because I rode her mother (I Can Yodele) before and I won an allowance race with her going long. For that reason I didn’t think she would have any problem today with the distance.”
MIKE HARRINGTON, SWISS WILD CAT, Winner: “Victor rode a hell of a race. She’s danced every dance. She gives her all every time. I didn’t really think the two turns would be a problem. Actually she handled the distance great it was the trip that could have got her beaten but didn’t. It turned out it was the perfect trip but there’s a lot of room for error there.”
JORGE GUTIERREZ, WARREN’S FLYER, Third – “It set up perfect for her. Just like Martin said – it seemed like he had a lot of horse, but the last sixteenth of a mile, she just got a little tired. It’s her first time going two turns. It worried me a little bit. She tried – she was just a little tired in the last sixteenth of a mile. When she saw an opening, she just took off. She did what she needed to do – it was just that last sixteenth.”
