Acclamation Double Eclipse Award Finalist

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (January 5, 2012)—Acclamation, a two-time winner of both the Charles Whittingham and Jim Murray Memorial Handicaps at Hollywood Park, is a finalist in two categories for the 2011 Eclipse Awards.

A California-bred owned by breeders Bud and Judy Johnston and Peter and Mary Hilvers and trained by Don Warren, Acclamation, who also won the $1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar last August, is one of three finalists for older turf male and older male.

Other finalists with local ties include Creative Cause, a first out maiden winner during the 2011 Spring/Summer meet, Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner and California bred Amazombie, 2011 Vanity Handicap winner Blind Luck, Dubawi Heights, who won both the Wilshire and Grade I Gamely during the Spring/Summer season last year and Hollywood Gold Cup runner-up Game On Dude.

The 41st annual Eclipse Awards, which are presented by Daily Racing Form and the Breeders’ Cup, will be held Monday, January 16 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Two-Year-Old Male: Creative Cause, Hansen and Union Rags.
Two-Year-Old Filly: Grace Hall, My Miss Aurelia and Stephanie’s Kitten.
Three-Year-Old Male: Animal Kingdom, Caleb’s Posse and Shackleford.
Three-Year-Old Filly: It’s Tricky, Plum Pretty and Royal Delta.
Older Male: Acclamation, Game On Dude and Tizway.
Older Female: Awesome Maria, Blind Luck and Havre de Grace.
Male Sprinter: Amazombie, Caleb’s Posse and Regally Ready.
Female Sprinter: Hilda’s Passion, Musical Romance and Sassy Image.
Male Turf Horse: Acclamation, Cape Blanco and St. Nicholas Abbey.
Female Turf Horse: Dubawi Heights, Perfect Shirl and Stacelita.
Steeplechase Horse: Black Jack Blues, Decoy Daddy and Tax Ruling.
Owner: Midwest Thoroughbreds, Ken and Sarah Ramsey and Team Valor.
Breeder: Adena Springs, Brereton C. Jones and Ken and Sarah Ramsey.
Trainer: Bob Baffert, Bill Mott and Todd Pletcher.
