INGLEWOOD, Calif. (January 18, 2013)—Lady of Fifty, an impressive winner of the Grade II Bayakoa Handicap Dec. 8 at Betfair Hollywood Park, will make her first start of 2013 in the $150,000 La Canada Stakes Sunday at Santa Anita.
A Grade II for 4-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles, the La Canada is the seventh of nine races. Post time Sunday at Santa Anita is 12:30 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.
Owned by George Todaro and Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, Lady of Fifty ended her 3-year-old campaign with consecutive victories. Prior to her 3 ¼ length win over Cushion Track in the Bayakoa, the gray daughter of After Market had captured the Palm Springs Handicap Nov. 1 at Santa Anita.
Out of the Maria’s Mon mare K.D.’s Shady Lady, Lady of Fifty has won six of 11 and banked $320,000.
