INGLEWOOD, Calif. (March 22, 2012)—Cambina, who was part of a historic dead heat with Nereid in the 2011 American Oaks at Betfair Hollywood Park, is among 11 scheduled to run in the $150,000 Santa Ana Handicap Sunday at Santa Anita.
A Grade II at 1 1/8 miles on turf, the Santa Ana is the seventh of nine races. Post time is 12:30 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.
Owned by a partnership and trained by Jeff Bonde, Cambina finished on even terms with the John Shirreffs-trained Nereid in the American Oaks last July 16, the initial dead heat in the Grade I.
A 4-year-old Irish bred daughter of Hawk Wing and the Peintre Celebre mare Await, Cambina has won six of 16 and earned $393,426. She has lost four in a row since her score in the American Oaks.

The Sunday program at Santa Anita also includes the $150,000 San Luis Rey Stakes, a Grade II at 1 ½ miles on turf. It goes as the fourth race and attracted six entrants, including 123-pound highweight Slim Shadey.
