INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 3, 2012)—The appointment of longtime horse owner Charles Winner to the California Horse Racing Board was announced Tuesday by Governor Jerry Brown.
Winner, 71, joins a board which had been shy two members after the terms of John Harris and Jerry Moss ended.
A Beverly Hills resident, Winner founded Winner and Mandabach Campaigns and has been a partner since 1985. Additionally, he is the founder of Winner and Associates, where he has been president since 1975 and was founder and partner of Cerell Winner and Associates (1965-66) and served as Southern California secretary and travel secretary to former Governor Pat Brown, the current governor’s late father, from 1965-66.
