INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 22, 2011)—The recently concluded Spring/Summer meet at Hollywood Park showed a surge in claiming activity, a positive indicator regarding horse ownership in California.
A total of 195 horses were claimed during the 54-day meet at Hollywood Park. The total cost of those purchases was $4,206,500.
This was up considerably over the 57-day Spring/Summer season a year ago. There were 151 claims – totaling $3,120,000 – in 2010.
