INGLEWOOD, Calif. (January 17, 2013)—Comma to the Top, who earned his most significant victory in the 2010 CashCall Futurity, will make his 5-year-old debut in the $150,000 Palos Verdes Stakes Saturday at Santa Anita.
A Grade II at six furlongs, the Palos Verdes is the fifth of nine races. Post time Saturday at Santa Anita is 12:30 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10:15 a.m. for simulcasts.
Trained by Peter Miller for owners Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Kevin Tsujihara, Comma to the Top ended 2012 with a gate-to-wire victory in the Grade III Daytona Stakes Dec. 29.
The win was the 11th in 25 starts for the gelded son of Bwana Charlie and the Stormy Atlantic mare Maggies Storm and pushed his earnings to $1,027,696.
The program also includes the $75,000 Megahertz, which is for older fillies and mares at one mile on turf. The field of eight includes In the Stars, an optional claiming winner Dec. 14 at Betfair Hollywood Park, and Byrony, a two-time winner over the turf at BHP during the 2012 Spring/Summer meet.
