INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 27, 2012)—Comma to the Top, whose biggest win came in the 2010 CashCall Futurity, will seek the second Grade I of his career in the $300,000 Bing Crosby Handicap Sunday at Del Mar.

Scheduled for six furlongs over Polytrack, the Crosby is the eighth of 10 races. Post time Sunday is 2 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Kevin Tsujihara and trained by Peter Miller, Comma to the Top rattled off three consecutive stakes wins as a 2-year-old during the Autumn meet at Betfair Hollywood Park. Before the 1 ¾ length score in the Futurity, the Bwana Charlie gelding won the Real Quiet and the Grade III Generous on turf.

Out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Maggies Storm, Comma to the Top has won eight of 19 and banked $843,796.

If Comma to the Top is to win for the second time over the Del Mar main track, the Florida bred will have to defeat a field that includes 2011 sprint champion Amazombie and multiple graded stakes winner The Factor.

Second behind Camp Victory in the Grade I Triple Bend Handicap June 30 at Betfair Hollywood Park, The Factor has won six of 12 for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert and owners George Bolton and Fog City Stable. The gray son of War Front is 1-for-1 over Polytrack, winning the Grade I Pat O’Brien last Aug. 28.

From inside out, the field for the Bing Crosby Handicap: Amazombie, Mike Smith rides, 123 pounds; Comma to the Top, Kevin Krigger, 119; Don Tito, Garrett Gomez, 119; The Factor, Martin Garcia, 123 and Capital Account, David Flores, 119.
