Florida Man Wins $3,000 Show Me The Money Contest
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 15, 2012)—By virtue of the first tiebreaker, Giovanni Oldano of Weston, Florida won the $3,000 Show Me The Money –Presented by Golden Nugget Las Vegas – contest Friday night at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The free challenge, which began May 6 with 1,738 players, required a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races – at least 10 minutes prior to the opening race. The selected horse had to finish first, second or third for a player to continue.
Both Oldano and Mark Niemerow of Thousand Oaks selected I Sense Your Luck in Friday’s third race.
When the 3-year-old Street Sense filly finished fourth as the 3-2 favorite in the $12,500 claimer, Oldano earned the winner-take-all prize because he had more winners – 13 – during the contest. Niemerow finished the contest, which spanned 24 racing days, with nine.
In addition to the cash, Oldano won a two-night VIP stay at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas.
