INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 23, 2013)—Game On Dude, who won the Hollywood Gold Cup in 2012 and 2013, is the 5-2 morning line favorite for the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic Sunday at Del Mar.
A Grade I at 1 ¼ miles over Polytrack, the Pacific Classic is the ninth of 11 races. Post time Sunday at Del Mar is 1 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 10 a.m. for simulcasts.
Owned by a partnership that includes Joe Torre’s Diamond Pride LLC, Lanni Family Trust, Ernie Moody’s Mercedes Stable LLC and Bernie Schiappa and trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Game On Dude will be making his first start since he became the third multiple Gold Cup winner July 6. Native Diver (1965-1967) and Lava Man (2005-2007) both won Hollywood Park’s signature event three times.
