INGLEWOOD, Calif. (February 27, 2013)—Jockeys Chris Antley, Garrett Gomez and Alex Solis and trainer Gary Jones, who have combined for 2,947 wins at Betfair Hollywood Park, are among the 10 finalists on the National Museum of Racing’s 2013 Hall of Fame ballot.
Results of the voting will be revealed April 26. The four candidates with the highest vote totals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Aug. 9 at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavillion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Solis is fourth on the all-time list at Hollywood Park with 1,584 victories and is fifth with 163 stakes wins. A veteran of more than 30 years, Solis has won three Breeders’ Cup races and the 1986 Preakness with Snow Chief.
Gomez has 547 wins locally – 71 of them in stakes – while Antley, who passed away in 2000, won 353 races at Hollywood Park.
Jones, the father of trainer Marty Jones, is 15th all time among conditioners at trainers at Hollywood Park with 463 wins. He is 10th with 58 stakes victories. One of those stakes successes came with Best Pal in the 1993 Hollywood Gold Cup.
The other finalists are jockeys Calvin Borel and Craig Perret and thoroughbreds Ashado, Housebuster, Invasor and Lure.
