INGLEWOOD, Calif. (November 20, 2011)—Due to track condition after persistent, heavy rain, the final three races (7-9) Sunday at Hollywood Park were canceled.
“The jockeys expressed some concern with their safety,’’ said Hollywood Park vice president and general manager Eual Wyatt, Jr. “Concern for the safety of the riders is something that is always of paramount importance, so cancellation was the proper decision.’’
There was a Pick 6 carryover of $62,888 entering Sunday’s card, which will now be available when racing resumes Thursday. The Thanksgiving Day program has an early post time of 11 a.m.
All Pick 6 and late Pick 4 – consisting of races 6-9 – wagers were refunded. There was also a refund of any Pick 3 tickets that began in the sixth race.
There was a consolation payoff of $5.40 on the rolling double of races 6-7. Pick 3 tickets that that had winners in the fifth and sixth races were good to all seventh race runners and that return was $106.70.
Place Pick All tickets paid $235.60 to any tickets that had a horse finish first or second in five of the six races that were run prior to the cancellation
