INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 28, 2009) — There will be several variations from the regular schedule at Hollywood Park during Kentucky Derby week.
Live racing resumes Wednesday with a 1 p.m. post time, but there will be simulcast wagering only on Thursday due to limited entries.
Friday’s card, which was drawn Tuesday, will be the only Friday matinee at the 13-week Spring/Summer Meet with a special 1 p.m. post time to accommodate the simulcast of the Kentucky Oaks.
Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Day program will have an 11 a.m. first post at Hollywood Park. Gates will open at 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday as the entire Churchill Downs program will be carried with the first import at 7:30 a.m.
The simulcast program at Hollywood Park on Thursday will be feature additional imports. General admission is free on Thursdays throughout the meeting.
