INGLEWOOD, Calif. (September 25, 2013)—The CashCall Futurity, which was first run in 1981, will be offered for the final time at Betfair Hollywood Park Saturday, December 14.
Offering a guaranteed purse of $750,000, the CashCall Futurity, which is run at 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track, is the most lucrative of four Grade I races that will be contested during the last Autumn meet at Betfair Hollywood Park. The 29-day season will begin Thursday, November 7 and continue through Sunday, December 22.

Six CashCall Futurity starters have gone on to Kentucky Derby glory. The first was Gato Del Sol, who won the 1982 Derby under Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Delahoussaye.
Giacomo was the most recent, stunning the racing world at 50-1in 2005 for owners Jerry and Ann Moss, trainer John Shirreffs and Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith.
The other Grade I events on the Autumn stakes calendar are the $500,000 Hollywood Starlet (Saturday, December 7) for 2-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track, the $250,000 Matriarch for older fillies and mares at one mile on turf and the $250,000 Hollywood Derby for 3-year-olds at 1 ¼ miles on turf. The Matriarch and Hollywood Derby will be run Sunday, December 1.
