INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 7, 2012)—Ten players remain active in the $2,500 winner-take-all Show Me The Money contest at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The free challenge, which began November 8 with 2,409 players, requires a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races – at least 10 minutes prior to the first race. The selected horse must finish first, second or third for a player to continue.

The last player standing receives the cash prize. Should more than one contestant still be alive at the conclusion of racing December 16 – closing day of the Autumn meet – the winner will be decided by a tiebreaker. The first tiebreaker is number of wins.

Five Californians – Jim Clarke of La Verne, Craig Mahl of Anaheim, Gil Nishina of Los Angeles, Robert Patsky of Cherry Valley and Milton Watanabe of Torrance – are among the survivors through 18 days.

The others still playing are Wayne Benafield of Henderson, Nevada, Edward Kramer (West Palm Beach, Florida), Anthony Lee (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Dan Stepien (Ballston Spa, New York) and Alcira Talley (Newark, Delaware).

Benafield, Kramer, Lee, Nishina and Talley chose third race winner Bluegrass Reward Friday. The selection for Clarke, Patsky, Stepien and Watanabe was Miss Well Molded, who won the sixth. Mahl’s choice was Mr. Make Believe, who captured the eighth.
