INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 3, 2011)—Turbulent Descent, who earned the first Grade I victory of her career in the Hollywood Starlet last Dec. 11, heads a field of nine in the $250,000 Test Stakes Saturday at Saratoga.

A Grade I for 3-year-old fillies at seven furlongs, the Test is the ninth of 11 races at Saratoga. Track gates at Hollywood Park open at 10:30 a.m. for simulcasts Saturday.

Owned by a partnership that includes Blinkers On Racing Stable and trained by Mike Puype, Turbulent Descent will be making her second appearance in New York in the Test. A daughter of Congrats and the Forestry mare Roger’s Sue, Turbulent Descent has won five of seven and earned $678,350.

One of her eight opponents in the Test is the Bob Baffert-trained American Lady.

A Stormy Atlantic filly owned by Kaleem Shah, American Lady won an allowance by 2 ¼ lengths June 30 at Hollywood Park. This will be the first appearance in a graded event for American Lady, who has won two of three and earned $77,120.

One race after the Test, 2009 Hollywood Gold Cup winner Rail Trip will seek his first victory since the 2010 Californian in the $750,000 Whitney Invitational Handicap.
