INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 28, 2012)—The Players’ Pick 5 payoff Monday at Betfair Hollywood Park was the second largest in the history of the popular 50-cent mimimum wager since its debut here April 21, 2011.
The two perfect tickets on the Players’ Pick 5 – which features a 14% takeout – were each worth $117,578.60. One was purchased through TVG and the other Xpressbet.
The biggest upset in the sequence was provided by Power Foot, who won the second race by a neck at 36-1. The other four winners were favored Hadfunlastnight ($5.80) in the first, Called to Serve ($12.80) in the third, Run for Miles ($12.20) in the fourth and Dangerous Duo ($25) in the fifth.
The record Pick 5 payoff of $157,395.35 occurred July 9, 2011. The five winners that day were Lemou ($4.40), Who’s Up ($63.80), Sir Hamilton ($37.60), Dreamy Kid, who upset Coil in the Grade II Swaps Stakes and returned $40, and Capt. Sparrow ($13).
