INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 5, 2013)—Unbridled’s Note, who was defeated by less than two lengths when fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint Nov. 2, will make his Betfair Hollywood Park debut in the $100,000 Hollywood Turf Express Sunday.

Returning to the Autumn stakes calendar for the first time since 2008, the Turf Express is for 3-year-olds & upward at six furlongs. The ungraded event is the fourth of 10 races.

Post time Sunday is 12:30 p.m. Track gates at Betfair Hollywood Park will open at 9:55 a.m. for simulcasts.

Owned by Mike McCarty and trained by Steve Asmussen, Unbridled’s Note has earned two of his four lifetime wins on turf, including the Grade III Eddie D. Stakes Sept. 28, 2012 at Santa Anita.

Runner-up behind Mizdirection, who repeated in the Grade I last month, in the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, the 4-year-old Unbridled’s Song colt out of the Siberian Express mare Siberian Fur has earned $564,017 in 14 starts.

Boat Trip, who was 12th in this year’s BC Turf Sprint, returns to his favorite venue for owners James Hirschmann III and B.J. Wright and trainer Mike Pender.

The 4-year-old son of Harlan’s Holiday is 3-for-4 over the Betfair Hollywood Park grass. He won an allowance at the Turf Express distance May 4, 2012 and also captured the Tusnami Slew Stakes at one mile the following month (June 22). His other victory here came earlier this year, a neck decision June 21 in a $69,010 allowance at five furlongs.

Out of the Seeking the Gold mare Turning Wheel, Boat Trip has won four of 13 in his career and banked $193,196.

Chips All In enters off a ninth-place finish in the BC Turf Sprint, has won seven of 17 and earned $410,613.

The 4-year-old North Light colt out of the Maria’s Mon mare Maria’s Mirage is owned by a partnership that includes Jean Everest, John O’Brien. Michelle Turpin and Danny Valdez and trained by Jeff Mullins.

The Kentucky-bred has only started once over the BHP turf, finishing fourth in the 2012 Tsunami Slew.

No Silent returns to turf after finishing 11th of 12 in the Grade II Pat O’Brien Stakes over Del Mar’s Polytrack Aug. 25.
A 4-year-old son of Silent Name and the War Chant mare Two Names owned by Double JH Stable, Inc. and trained by Gary Mandella, No Silent, like Boat Trip, has won three of four over the local grass.

His victories have come during the last three meets at Betfair Hollywood Park. No Silent defeated maidens during the 2012 Spring/Summer season (July 7), won a $49,852 allowance during the 2012 Autumn meet (Dec. 14) and an optional claimer during the 2013 S/S meet (May 11).

Bred in Kentucky by Alain and Gerard Wertheimer, No Silent is 4-for-14 with a bankroll of $221,220.

Jonny’s Choice already has a win at the meet for Jonathan Hilvers and breeders Patsy Berumen and Bud and Judy Johnston and trainer Don Warren.

The gelded son of Unusual Heat and the Boundary mare Knows No Bounds won by a nose over fellow California breds at the Express distance Nov. 23. The victory was the second in 10 starts for the 4-year-old and pushed his earnings to $105,966.

If successful Sunday, Jonny’s Choice would be the third consecutive Cal bred to win the Turf Express following Unusual Suspect (2007) and California Flag (2008).
