INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 21, 2013)—Sunday – the final day of racing in Betfair Hollywood Park history – will be spiced by a Pick Six carryover of $122,406.
Since it is closing day, there will be a mandatory payout in the sequence, which begins in the sixth race on the 11-race card. Scheduled post time for the sixth is 3:05 p.m.
Post time is 12:30 p.m. and track gates will open at 9:55 a.m. for simulcasts.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 21, 2013)-The next-to-last day of racing in Betfair Hollywood Park history produced some pari-mutuel fireworks.
The $2 daily double in races 5-6 Saturday paid $3,728, making it the largest in Autumn meet history and third biggest in track history.
The two winners in the double were Luz Atticus, who returned $64.60 in winning the fifth race by a neck under apprentice jockey Gonzalo Nicolas, and Tribal Yodeler, who paid $88.80 in breaking her maiden by 1 ¼ lengths in the sixth under Irving Orozco, another apprentice.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 21, 2013)—The single winning ticket in Friday’s Pick Six at Betfair Hollywood Park that returned $323,801.60 was purchased for $180 through TwinSpires.com.
The winning horses in the Pick Six, which began in the third race, were Julio’s Gold ($8.20), Candiz ($21.40), Scorcher ($7), Rock Off ($14.60), Oscillator ($7.80) and World Famous Sam T ($82).
The final Saturday of the last Autumn meet – the next-to-last racing day at Hollywood Park – offers one more $150,000-guaranteed Pick Six, a popular promotion which began during the 2012 Autumn season.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 20, 2013)—There will be a Super High 5 carryover of $24,432.87 when racing resumes Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The Super High 5, which requires a bettor to correctly select the first five finishers, is offered daily in the final race. Betfair Hollywood Park has an 11-race program Saturday.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 20, 2013)—Oscillator earned her first victory on turf Friday, rallying from well off the pace to overtake J and S Express in the final yards to win the $49,250 feature at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Racing without blinkers for the first time, the 4-year-old Decarchy filly out of the In Excess mare Excessive Susan completed the six furlongs in her fourth career start on grass in 1:09.74.
Trained by Jorge Periban for owner Stephen Campbell, Oscillator, the 5-2 second choice in the field of 10 California bred or sired fillies and mares, paid $7.80, $4.20 and $2.80.
Racing fans across the country are filling up the bandwagon following Shared Belief’s dazzling victory in the Grade I CashCall Futurity Dec. 14.
But it’s not only racing enthusiasts that are following the Candy Ride gelding. Horsemen who have raced against him are also heaping praise on the 2-year-old trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer.
“I thought he was the best 2-year-old in the country before the Futurity,” said trainer John Sadler, whose two horses finished a distant second (Candy Boy) and tenth (Kobe’s Back).
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 19, 2013)— Aotearoa will cut back in distance and return to a synthetic surface in the $200,000 King Glorious Stakes Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Named for the winner of the 1988 Hollywood Futurity, the King Glorious is for 2-year-olds bred or sired in California and will be run at seven furlongs over Cushion Track on the final day of racing at the legendary facility.
Part of the Golden State Series, the King Glorious is the 10th of 11 races on the final day of the last Autumn meet. Post time is 12:30 p.m. and track gates will open at 9:55 a.m. for simulcasts.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 18, 2013)—Swiss Lake Yodeler can help Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer set an Autumn meet record with a victory in the $200,000 Soviet Problem Stakes Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
A Golden State Series race, the Soviet Problem is for 2-year-old fillies bred or sired in California at seven furlongs over Cushion Track. It is the 10th of 11 races on the next-to-last day of racing in Hollywood Park history.
The final Saturday of the meet also brings the last $150,000-guaranteed Pick Six, a popular promotion which began during the 2012 Autumn season.
