Baffert Aims For Third Hollywood Oaks Victory

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 19, 2013)—Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, who won the Hollywood Oaks with Santa Catarina in 2003 and Tough Tiz’s Sis in 2007, will send out recent maiden winner Ondine as he seeks another victory when the Grade II is run for the 68th time Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Contested at 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track, the Oaks, which is for 3-year-old fillies, is the third of nine races Saturday. Post time is 1 p.m. Track gates will open at 9:55 a.m. for simulcasts.
This will also be the sixth of nine Saturdays during the Spring/Summer meet offering a guaranteed Pick Six pool of $150,000.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 16, 2013)—Include Me Out was successful in her return to the races, winning the $77,070 Desert Stormer Handicap Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Making her first start since finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic last Nov. 2 at Santa Anita, the 5-year-old daughter of Include and the Mazel Trick mare Don’t Trick Me was well positioned in the clear while close to the pace set by Shumoos, moved up three wide to engage for the lead at the head of the stretch and went on to victory without feeling jockey Joe Talamo’s whip
Owned by Samantha Siegel’s Jay Em Ess Stable and trained by Ron Ellis, Include Me Out won for the seventh time in 14 starts. A double Grade I winner in 2012, the Kentucky bred has earned $956,030. She paid $10.40, $5.40 and $2.80 while winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:10.32 for the six furlongs over Cushion Track.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 15, 2013)—Jockey Gary Stevens has certainly made the most of his two victories at the Spring/Summer meet at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The Hall of Famer, who earned his first win at the historic track in nearly eight years with a thrilling victory aboard Marketing Mix in the Grade I Gamely May 27, added another Grade I to his extremely impressive resume with a 6-1 surprise atop Byrama in the $250,250 Vanity Handicap Saturday.
Racing without blinkers for the first time in 10 months and making her Cushion Track debut, Byrama overtook runaway leader Royal Tiger approaching the stretch, then pulled away from More Chocolate in the final eighth of a mile to win by 3 ½ lengths.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 15, 2013)—One of the on-air personalities from Television Games Network (TVG) will play host for the Hollywood Insider Saturday, June 22.
Handicapping tips, insights and other last minute information will be offered on the afternoon’s races, including the Grade II, $150,000 Hollywood Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track.
Hollywood Insider will begin at 12 Noon at the Paddock Tote Board.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 15, 2013)—Trainer Walther Solis will be the guest of co-hosts Michael Burns and George Ortuzar at the upcoming Escogiendo Ganadores (Picking Winners) session Saturday, June 22.
During the Spanish-language seminar, Solis, Burns and Ortuzar will discuss the trainer’s career as well as the Betfair Hollywood Park card, including the $150,000 Hollywood Oaks, a Grade II for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track.
Escogiendo Ganadores will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Paddock Tote Board.
